| This gallery covers the demolition of the old Brookville Sheltered accommodation in Whitworth, Lancashire, and the subsequent re-building, which started pretty much as soon as the old place had been cleared. Work was taking place through much of late 2008, and reconstruction will run into 2009.
At the moment visits are roughly fortnightly, and the progress can be seen more clearly at these intervals. By the 31st of January construction of the walls walls was well under way, and quite a few bricks, or rather blocks had been laid since my previous visit on the 15th. As of the 1st of June work on the main structure of the building has progressed well, and the roof supports are now being put in place. The name of the new complex will change slightly, and I am told it will be called "Greenbrook Court" once completed. |
